Higganum Farmer's Market - Saturdays

Help with Set Up, Break Down and jobs in between at this weekly farmer’s market.

Saturdays from 8:30am – 12:30pm at Haddam Elementary School

Jensen's Halloween- October 31

Join this amazing community event in the Jensen’s Community on October 31st.

Volunteers are needed to help deliver candy to the residents, direct families that are trick-or-treating, and man the ‘spooky’ tent serving hot cocoa, apple cider and cookies!

The Haddam Historical Society has numerous community service opportunities working at the museum or community events.

Help is wanted for our CT River Valley Antiques Show

October 18th various shifts from 9am-6pm at Haddam Elementary School

October 19th, various shifts from 9am – 5pm at Haddam Elementary School

October  20th various shifts from 10am-5pm at Haddam Elementary School

Students can help as porters, parking, and guides.

Haddam Sustainability Committee

The Haddam Sustainability Committee aims to promote sustainable living, and enhance the town’s environmental practices for a better quality of life for Haddam residents.

Volunteers are needed to help with recycling at the Haddam ballfields and with plastics collection at the Transfer Station.

HADDAM SENIOR CENTER

The Haddam Senior Center offers a variety of activities and services for older adults in the community.  Volunteers are needed to help with planting, mulching, weeding and watering during the summer.

Card Angels

Who are the Card Angels? We make homemade cards with happy messages for those in cancer treatment centers and rehab/nursing homes.

Available tasks:

  1. Come to a meeting and make homemade cards.
  2. Help us with organizing materials
  3. Stamp sayings
  4. Making embellishments
  5. Put together kits
  6. Help review cards, count and put together deliveries

Fourth Thursday of every month from  5-7:30pm

Volunteers are needed for various projects such as spreading wood chips/ sand, painting, raking, helping the Ranger with maintenance of buildings and camp property and trail maintenance.

Help maintain Haddam’s beautiful gardens by partnering with the Haddam Garden Club in the Spring, Summer and Fall.

Duties may include:

The HK Craft Fair welcomes  80 crafters and 5 food trucks to the HK Middle School Gym and Cafeteria.

Many volunteers are needed to help with event coordination, vendor assistance, welcoming guests, set up and break down.

Hope Alliance

Hope Alliance’s mission is to provide lifetime care for special needs cats that other organizations don’t have the time or the resources to care for.

Help is needed with yardwork and with fundraising activities such as bottle drives.
