Thanks to a generous donation of lumber and equipment from the Society of Women Environmental Professionals, the Killingworth Land Trust has put together several kits and partnered with HK Youth and Family Services to build bluebird houses and bat houses. The goal is to hang them around town to help wildlife populations thrive. We need your help in assembling these kits. Please join us on Monday, September 30th at 6:30 PM at the Platt Nature Center at 344 Roast Meat Hill Road in Killingworth. There will be a brief presentation about the importance of bats and bluebirds and then we will get to work. We will have tools available to put them together however if you have an extra portable power drill that you can bring, that would be great. At the end, we will raffle off a bat house to our volunteers. The bluebird houses will be mounted at several locations in town including KES and BES.
Registration is closed.
