A Community Giveback Summer: Helping Hands Food Pantry

HKYFS invites underclassmen in high school from the HK community to join us for volunteer hours by participating in our organized opportunities available this summer!
This is a chance to register for a planned service event to not only earn hours but make a difference in the community where you live! This program is for emerging 9th and 10th graders in the HK community only please.

Date: Tuesday, August 5, 2025
Time: Drop off at 9am- pick up at 3pm
Where: Drop off at HKYFS, 91 Little City Rd., Higganum, CT, 06441
Site location: Helping Hand Food Pantry, 42 Route 81 Killingworth CT 06419

How the day looks:
9am- Drop your kid off at HKYFS.
9:15am- Bus picks us up and drops us off at Helping Hands Food Pantry in Killingworth. We work until Noon.
Noon-We are picked up and brought back to HKYFS.
1pm-After lunch, we will have an inside volunteer activity, which is creating coloring books to distribute to local preschools.
3pm- Parents pick-up at HKYFS

*Please note that water and snacks will be provided BUT lunch will not be. Please ensure that your child brings lunch with them.*
