Haddam-Killingworth Youth and Family Services (HKYFS) recently concluded its 2023 Holiday Giving Program, uniting the community in a collective effort to ensure joy for local children in need during the holiday season. The program, impacting 38 families and 104 children, garnered exceptional support from diverse sectors of the HK community.
This year, New Image Auto and Parmelee Farm partnered with our resident state troopers for notably successful “Stuff a Cruiser” events (photo above), showcasing the community’s remarkable generosity. In addition, individual families, local businesses, churches, schools, scouting groups, sports clubs, gyms, and various community-serving agencies shopped directly from family wish lists to allow children the joy of receiving the perfect gift.
Beyond delivering joy to recipients, the program eased the stress faced by families navigating daily challenges. The HK community, acting as a beacon of hope, played a pivotal role in reducing stress and offering relief to caregivers.
As we reflect on the success of the Holiday Giving Program, HKYFS extends our deepest gratitude to every individual, business, organization, and agency that played a role in making a difference. The program exemplifies the true spirit of the holiday season – coming together as a community to bring joy, and a sense of connection to those who need it most. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this program a heartwarming success!
