Community Outreach and Fundraising

All kinds of ways to help each other.

Haddam-Killingworth Youth and Family Services invites everyone in the community to participate in programs throughout the year to help those in need and to raise funds to support our vital work.

Some programs help families in need at the start of the school year and during the holidays. One gives the community at large an easy way to safely dispose of prescription drugs. And there are several fun events, supported by generous sponsors, to help us raise the funds we need to provide our vital services.

Outreach/Family Support

Drug Take Back Day

This nationwide program was created to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible way for people to dispose of their prescription drugs. Its goal is to educate the general public about the potential for the abuse of prescription medications. In the spring (April) and fall (October), we work alongside Connecticut State Troopers to provide this program at Nutmeg Pharmacy in Haddam and Killingworth Family Pharmacy in Killingworth.

HKYFS Holiday Giving Program

The Holiday Giving program helps families who do not have the means to provide the holiday gifts they would like for their children up to 18 years of age. Families sign up for the program and give a wish list of the items. They pick up the gifts before the holidays, along with tape, wrapping paper, and gift tags.

To sponsor a family, please email events@hkyfs.org

HKYFS Back to School Program

At HKYFS, we believe every student deserves the right tools to succeed. Our School Supply Program provides Haddam Killingworth students with essential items like backpacks, lunchboxes, water bottles, and school supplies to students in need.
