Middle School Programs

GIVE (Great Initiatives Volunteering Everywhere)

Join this active group and make a difference!Teamwork

This is a community service club for middle school youth in the 7th and 8th grades that meets after school. It is designed to assist youth in raising awareness about an issue and taking on a cause to promote skills in leadership, volunteerism, responsibility and giving back to the community. Club members will be involved in planning the activities in addition to implementing the projects.

Activities may include volunteering at local animal shelters, planning activities at senior centers, park cleanup and beautification projects and participate in other exciting events around town. It is a great opportunity to meet new friends, work as a team and gain new experiences while giving back to the community. Permission slips completed by a parent or guardian are needed. Please call 345-7498 or email Emily@hkyfs.org for a current schedule or to request a permission slip.

Homework/Transition Club

This club is for youth in the 5th and 6th grades. Youth will have the opportunity to do their homework, enjoy a snack and have the opportunity to discuss the transition from elementary school to middle school. This will be done in a quiet safe environment where they will have the chance to share the joys and challenges of middle school. They will be given the tools to help them better succeed and have fun at the same time. Youth may be able to take the late bus home.

Permission slips completed by a parent or guardian are needed. Please call 345-7498 or email Brett@hkyfs.org for a current schedule or to request a permission slip.
