The Best Summer Theater Camp Ever

Who?             All children ages 9-14

The team-building skills learned throughout the collaborative process of creating a production will strengthen your student’s abilities to work cooperatively with others while building self-esteem, public-speaking skills and voice techniques.  It is our desire that all children enjoy their time with us and use the skills taught in our program to pursue the enjoyment of musical theater by performing in school, the community or professionally.

A typical day will include three rotations of Theater-arts, Musical-Theater Singing and Dance & Movement before lunch.  A time for brown bag lunch (provided by you) will be given. Snacks will be provided by us.  The afternoon will include ensemble rehearsals for the Friday performance as well as speakers from the professional world of theater.  Some stage craft, costume and prop-master work will be worked into the schedule as well. 

Some highlights include:

• Broadway Professionals will speak to the group about their experiences.
• Each student will receive a CD with piano accompaniment to continue to work on their audition songs long after camp is over.
• Daily awards will be given in such zany categories as most creative hat, most miss-matched outfits, craziest hair and funkiest dance moves.
• A daily snack will be provided.
• At 2:00 on Friday, August 14th, all members of the Artful Living Summer Theater camp will perform in a culminating presentation, demonstrating the skill acquired during our week-long camp. All family members and friends are invited.
